We are pleased to share our new factsheets for children and young people, to help them better understand their rights while in care plus provide them with tips on how they can advocate for themselves.
The easy-to-read factsheets provide information about the most frequent questions our advocates get asked by young people when they call our office for advocacy and support.
Questions about staying in contact with their family, how to speak up for themselves, connecting to culture and transitioning from care are all covered, and we hope they become a valuable resource for all.
We encourage you to share these with the children and young people you work with, and of course, if the young people have any more questions they can call us on 1800 275 664 (freecall).
Factsheets now available:
- The Guardian for Children and Young People (What is GCYP and how we can help)

We’re looking forward to the year ahead and providing you with the latest news and reports concerning children and young people in care and detention. We also have some exciting things planned for 2022 which we can’t wait to share with you.
