The Office of the Guardian for Children and Young People advocates for the rights and best interests of children and young people in care and youth detention in South Australia.

We provide advocacy on individual and systemic issues, as well as monitoring the safety and wellbeing of these children and young people.

Our office is made up of three programs:

The Guardian for Children and Young People promotes and protects the rights and best interests of children and young people in care.

The Child and Young Person Visitor promotes and protects the rights and best interests of children and young people in residential care.

The Training Centre Visitor promotes and protects the rights and best interests of children and young people detained in the Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre.
