On 24 July, Aboriginal Elders and representatives from community and government agencies met at Ninkowar on Ngarrindjeri land on the banks of the Murray to talk about how to support Aboriginal children in state care to grow up strong and healthy and connected to country and culture.
The gathering started with a video of some Aboriginal young people talking about their experiences of growing up in state care and was followed by a frank and positive discussion.
