Final days to register for Youth Advisory Council – Get to it!!

There are five more days for young people to register their interest to join the Minister for Human Services’ Youth Advisory Council and have their say on shaping future policies impacting young people in South Australia.

This is a great opportunity for young people who have experienced being in care.

As a member of the new Youth Advisory Council, they can play an important role in advising the Minister for Human Services. They could share their lived experiences and visions for the future to influence strategic development and government policy on issues that are relevant to young people across the state. It is a practical way to help tackle the many challenges young people face.

Members will be appointed for an initial term of 12 months and will be reimbursed for their time and travel.

Who can apply?

Membership is open to all young people between 12 and 24 years of age living in South Australia.

Applications are strongly encouraged from young people representing diverse locations, backgrounds and life experiences, including:

  • regional residents
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
  • young people from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • LGBTIQA+ young people
  • young people living with disability.

How to apply

Young people need to submit their resume and maximum of 500 words on why they want to join the Youth Advisory Council through the expression of interest form.

Expressions of interest close this Sunday on 19 June 2022.
