Young people invited to enter writing competition to celebrate SA Youth Week

Today is the start of SA Youth Week, an annual week-long celebration of all young people in South Australia aged 12-25 years, recognising their ideas, talents and contributions.

From Friday 13 May until Sunday 22 May, we’re inviting all young people from 12-18 years who are in care to write a poem or short story on what they like about being a young person in South Australia.

With all the entries we hope to create an e-book to share with each young person who contributed and to the wider care community.

The winner will win a $50 voucher of their choice from our selected stores (Dymocks, JB Hi-Fi, Toyworld or Rebel Sport), plus bragging rights!

Entries close 5pm on Sunday 22 May 2022.

How a young person can enter

  1. Write a short story or poem.
  2. Complete the consent form if the young person would like us to publish their piece in our e-book and communications.
  3. Send their story or poem to gcyp@gcyp.sa.gov.au or post to GPO Box 2281, Adelaide, SA, 5001.
