The System We Owe Them Child Protection Report

Young advocate Jack Harrison asked his community what they would change about the child protection system?
People shared difficult experiences, frustrations with the system, but most importantly, ideas for how it can be better.
Jack has collated all the responses into 37 recommendations for reform. These recommendations cover early intervention, child-centred decision-making, carers, workforce capacity, regional services, accountability, mental health and disability support, and support for young people leaving care. The report makes clear that children must be safer, heard, supported and placed at the centre of the decisions that shape their lives.
