We’re so excited you want to
Get Involved
You're here because you want to have a say in the care system and youth detention in South Australia.
We want all children and young people who have been in care or detention to have a chance to share their ideas and help improve the way things work in South Australia.
To do this, we invite a group of children and young people to share their thoughts and experiences with the Guardian.
These groups are called AYIN (Advisory Youth Influence Network).
Your ideas can help other children and young people have a better experience.
There also opportunities to be part of events and volunteer with our office if your interested.
Contact our Youth Engagement Coordinator using the form at the end of this page to find out more.
Where does your feedback go?
When you share your thoughts with us, the Guardian may share it with the department, Minister or other members of parliament. But we will always check with you before sharing information with others.
Projects we’ve done with you
These are some of the reports we put together with the quotes of children and young people who’ve been in care and youth detention. They have helped improve things for other children in care and youth detention.

Hopes and Dreams
We want to hear what your hopes, dreams, ambitions and aspirations are for the future, and what you believe will help them achieve them. There will be a series of awesomely fun activities hosted by the wonderful ActNow Theatre where kids can express themselves through fun interactive workshops. All the artwork made will then be put into a special report, showcasing the hopes and dreams of children in the care system.Â
